How Carraig Donn increased dispatch capacity and reduced fulfilment errors with StockHub WMS.

Carraig Donn supports over 40 stores and a growing ecommerce business from two warehouses. The Irish fashion and lifestyle retailer introduced StockHub WMS by Futura Retail Solutions, a dedicated warehouse management system for retail and ecommerce fulfilment.
By replacing paper-based online picking and packing with scanner-led workflows, Carraig Donn reports greater peak dispatch capacity without additional staffing, fewer fulfilment errors and less time spent on manual processing. Alongside these gains, the team has clearer control of warehouse stock serving both stores and online customers.

Two warehouses supporting stores and ecommerce
Carraig Donn sells fashion, accessories, jewellery and gifts through over 40 stores and a Shopify web store. Its warehouses must handle small, frequent online orders alongside larger, multi-line store replenishments.
Ecommerce represents around eight in ten orders, while store replenishment accounts for around nine in ten units. The challenge is therefore broader than online fulfilment: the operation must support both individual customer orders and the movement of substantial quantities of stock to stores.
Seasonal trading adds further pressure. Stores build stock ahead of Christmas, online demand rises around Black Friday, and the Boxing Day sales bring another surge.
Online fulfilment had been fully paper-based. Printing pick lists, invoices and courier labels created administration alongside the physical work of picking, packing and dispatching orders. Carraig Donn wanted to reduce paperwork and keyboard input, extend handheld scanning and improve visibility of stock across warehouse locations.

Giving the team back time
StockHub WMS went live across both warehouses in July 2024, supporting goods receiving, multi-bin stock locations, store replenishment, ecommerce picking and packing, and dispatch preparation.
The biggest change for online fulfilment was moving both picking and packing onto handheld scanners. Barcode scanning at each stage helped reduce inaccurate picking, with Carraig Donn attributing its reported 75% reduction in fulfilment errors to these checks.
The wider fulfilment workflow also reduced manual administration. Shipster supports carrier selection and invoice/courier-label automation alongside StockHub WMS, helping remove the printing and processing tasks that had accompanied each online order.
Carraig Donn reports that these changes freed up 80% of the time previously spent on online processing tasks. The team describes StockHub as giving time back within the warehouse through greater efficiency, while enabling online dispatch to scale without additional staffing.
More capacity when retail demand peaks
Carraig Donn reports that around 250 additional fashion orders a day could be dispatched at peak compared with the previous year.
That capacity matters in an operation where demand rises sharply around seasonal promotions. StockHub WMS reporting shows more than 1,000 orders a day were received in the approach to Black Friday, with 1,715 received on the busiest recorded day in November 2024. November web order volumes subsequently increased by 21% in 2025 compared with 2024.

Clearer stock control across stores and ecommerce
The benefits extend beyond online picking and packing. Carraig Donn reports greater visibility of shop and online stock, allocations, movements and orders.

Multi-bin locations helped Carraig Donn improve stock management and make better use of warehouse space. Stock-location QR codes also gave the team the ability to extend its storage areas into additional pickable locations.
Holding locations provide further control over when stock becomes available. The team can receive a full purchase order without immediately releasing the goods into picking locations, supporting allocations to stores and reducing the need to return to the same purchase order repeatedly.
Stock returning from stores or subject to recall can remain recorded in the stock file while being kept unavailable for shop or online picking.

What is StockHub WMS?
StockHub WMS is a dedicated warehouse management system for retailers supplying stores, ecommerce customers or both. It can work with a retailer’s existing systems or alongside Futura’s Retail Management System.
It coordinates goods receiving, put-away, stock locations, picking, packing and dispatch, using handheld scanning to guide warehouse tasks and keep stock movements visible. Its capabilities also include:
- Multi-bin stock management: Organise stock across warehouse locations and manage where it is available for picking.
- Stock counts and rolling stock checks: Use handheld scanners to count stock and review discrepancies before stock figures are updated.
- Operational dashboards: View warehouse activity and team performance to help monitor operations.

For Carraig Donn, confidence in StockHub WMS also came from the people behind it.
A longstanding relationship with Futura meant the team could discuss its warehouse requirements with a partner that already understood the business. An open working relationship allowed essential needs and future possibilities to be explored together.
That understanding carried through into delivery. The project included onsite discovery, warehouse workflow design, configuration, integration, user training and testing. Following go-live, Futura continued to provide onsite assistance, hypercare support and regular project reviews.
