OUT WITH THE OLD & IN WITH THE NEW – COLLECTABLES MOVES TO FUTURA’S RETAIL MANAGEMENT SOLUTION

Collectables, a specialist retailer and mail order company with stores in the North of England, is replacing a 10 year old stock control and epos system with a state of the art retail management solution from Futura. With initial rollout across the company’s existing nine retail outlets, followed by web integration, the new system will significantly improve existing sales processes. Importantly it will enable better management control, assisting in market trend spotting and enabling the business to respond more quickly to customer needs.

To support company and web trading development, John Marlor, Retail Controller of Collectables believes a sophisticated, evolving system is required to improve purchasing, tailor customer offerings and generate more profit - without having to increase human resources. So after reviewing systems, Collectables chose Futura, “because we feel confident and comfortable with the Futura team and are sure, in a long term relationship, that we have the greatest chance of increasing profitability.”

After bedding in the system, Collectables plans to use Futura to control internet stock and improve customer information to give a clearer view of customer spending patterns, enhance existing loyalty schemes to offer greater value and offer e-gift cards. This will enable the company to more precisely target the right mailer to the relevant customer thereby improving promotional opportunities.

By carrying forward sufficient historical data onto the system, Head Office will now be able to better plan and forecast, and greater visibility of information will enable store managers to be more creative, improve their business and commercial judgement and better participate in the development and progress of the company. At present, replenishment calculations and reporting are not sophisticated, so John Marlor hopes to speed up putting goods inwards into the system from 10 days to 24 hours.

Collectables have also commissioned Futura Analyzer, a powerful new tool to improve management reporting, enabling more relevant and tailored reports on performance and customers to be shared with store management.
