Cath Kidston - Continues To Go From Strength To Strength

Cath KidstonThe omni-channel lifestyle brand Cath Kidston covering homewares, fashion and accessories,
continues to go from strength to strength, expanding collections and opening new stores across the globe.

With more than 70 outlets in the UK and Ireland alone, Cath Kidston has been a Futura customer since 2001 and relies on Futura’s robust Head Office retail management system for merchandising and stock control, plus Futura’s versatile, easy to use EPOS solution, to help drive the business forward.

Cath Kidston was quick to deploy Futura’s e-gift card solution to provide further value add for customers. With full multi-channel support, gift cards can be purchased in store or online and redeemed at any of the group’s UK stores, or through the Cath Kidston website. Balances can also be checked online or at the till and gift certificates can be sent by email, adding further versatility and ease to last minute gift purchases.

To support international expansion Cath Kidston has deployed Futura’s 4th generation retail platform Futura4POS to provide stores in China and Japan, some 36 at the last count, with a multi-lingual global EPOS solution, all linked in real-time to the company’s Futura-based head office systems in the UK.

Designed for lifestyle brands expanding across different time zones and languages, a number of factors make Futura4POS a good fit for Cath Kidston. These include a single customer record, mastered in Futura; ease of use; a real-time architecture; full visibility of sales reporting in local time; multi-language, multi-currency support; and flexibility to integrate seamlessly with other 3rdparty systems using standard APIs./p>

Commenting on the brand’s recent Japanese expansion Cath Kidston IT Director Karl de Bruijn said:

“Futura allows us to develop a full retail model to meet in country requirements and then scale up to what is a significant retail presence. Business continuity of course was crucial and we have been able to go from a standing start to 27 stores, all mastered centrally, with minimal support on the ground. The ability to roll out and update from a central point was paramount. All we needed in store was to plug in the tills. Futura could then connect remotely to install the system overnight and next day we were operating pretty much as normal.”

>Karl de Bruijn concluded: “Working with Futura and the experience to date has been phenomenal.”
