Trading Limited, the trading company behind the Science Museum, London; the National Railway Museum, York and the National Media Museum, Bradford has selected Futura’s retail management system to speed up and improve the customer buying experience and to get better visibility of sales and stock across the group - from gift shops to the online Science Museum shop.
Helen Illingworth, NMSI’s Head of Retail was looking to replace an 8 year old epos solution with a real time system, powerful enough to cope with fast transaction throughput, especially at peak periods such as school holidays. Helen chose Futura following an extensive selection process, positive feedback from major London attractions and the opportunity to contribute to product development through the lively User Group.
This was due to its, “user friendly, intuitive system, which does not require extensive IT support, Futura’s responsiveness to customer needs and their willingness to customise modules for us.”
Futura’s system is being integrated with the finance system for automatic ordering to avoid manual duplication and to the web store to handle stock control and replenishment via an automatically generated replenishment report.
Helen Illingworth expects Futura’s system to increase the amount of goods sold at full margin, improve product margins and maximise inventory reduction through efficient allocation and replenishment advice.
In the future she will be considering the new Workflow modules and linking membership to loyalty cards.
Futura’s reports will show profit and sales by till, by employee and SKU, either by day or by month, as well as showing stock turn and performance by product and category. The reports will then be emailed across the country to relevant managers in the different locations.
