Etablished in 1984 in the USA, at a time when the concept of fashion watches emerged and won significane as a part of the accessiores collection in department stores. Soon Fossil introduced „metal cans“ as packaging, the design of which was inspired by American 1950`s graphics.

With impressive speed Fossil developed products way beyond the scope of watch design; they concluded contracts with significant labels, e.g. Armani, Diesel, Burberry, or DKNY and forged international co-operations-

Today the product range comprises watches, jewellery, sunglasses, wallets, bags an an extensive range of clothing. Fossil became a pioneer of e-commerce as early as 1996. Fossil Europe, based in Basel, Switzerland and Grabenstätt/Erlstätt uses FuturERS for the mangement of its retail activitis in Euroland, Switzerland, Denmark, Sweden and as its system for area control, e.g. with V&D, Inno, De Bijenkorf and Breuniger. The whole data exchange occurs by means of eBiss, an new and creative product from Pranke, Karlsruhe- Furthermore, there is a connection to the exisiting SAP systems AFS and Retail in the USA.

As a further innovation, Fossil Europe uses the reporting tool Futura B.I.S./ Fashion which ist based on OLAP. With this tool the American and European controlling divisions can generate reports in any currency.
